Program Overview

ISO LCAT 2 – Lubrication Management and Analysis (ISO 18436)

Lubrication management and oil analysis are critical activities for making informed maintenance and operational decisions, detection & diagnosis of faults, improvements in machine reliability, and importantly for root cause elimination. It is a vital component of predictive maintenance programs.

Lubrication tasks that relate to maintenance and condition monitoring, including sampling, handling and storage, contamination control, oil analysis and remedial actions, and the relubrication of bearings and seals are only effective in reducing risk when personnel are well trained.

ICM’s internationally recognised ISO LCAT 2 Training and Certification program builds on the ISO LCAT 1 body of knowledge and provides the necessary skills and competency to holistically manage lubrication on site. Our LCAT lubrication courses comply with International Standards ISO 18436-1, ISO 18436-3, ISO 18436-4, ISO/IEC 17024 and offer optional certification by the Australian Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (AINDT) or the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT).

Participants learn in accordance with recognised, effective, best practice procedures.

Please note that Lubrication Category 1 (LCAT 1) is a pre-requisite of this Lubrication Category II program unless possessing a minimum of five years verifiable experience in lubrication.

Our course trainer Col McKenna has over 30 years of industry experience as a lubrication analyst and hydrocarbon SME, and is broadly regarded as Australia’s most experienced and knowledgeable industrial lubrication analyst.

The ISO 18436 Accredited LCAT 1 and 2 courses were successfully introduced into Australia over a decade ago by Col McKenna and Bassim Ismail (ICM Director). We have successfully trained and accredited over 600 delegates in WA and have maintained excellent feedback and success rates.

Col speaks directly to your challenges and issues relating to both fixed plant and HME. His industrial involvement as an SME and Trainer in lubrication includes most leading organisations in the Australian Mining, Oil and Gas, Utilities and Defence sectors.
