UCAT 1 – Ultrasound ISO Category 1 (Perth)

Program Overview

The use of Airborne and Structure Borne Ultrasound methods in condition monitoring has become a key activity in predictive maintenance programmes for many industries. The effectiveness of this technology depends on the capabilities of individuals who perform the measurements and analyse the data.

Certification is evidence that personnel performing airborne ultrasound possess knowledge and understanding of the test method and also gives the inspector the confidence needed to perform the inspection to the highest level of success.

This 32-hour course is designed to meet the requirements of SNT-TC-1A and is in accordance with ISO 18436-8.

Course content consists of advanced theory, inspection logistics, data collection, data and sound analysis, writing procedures, and generating reports. A General, Specific, and Practical test is given at the end of the course.

The course was designed by a committee of experts, some of whom were responsible for pioneering and developing the technology.
